Need More Input re Itinerary

Had previous post, but now confused after a couple of response....

The plan was:

fly into Florence
train to CT for first 3 nights (must do)
train to Florence for next 3 or 4
pick up car somewhere for Montepulciano 4 night stay (must do)
drop off car somewhere on way to Rome for last 3 nights and flying out

Flights are set, into Florence, out of Rome. Should we arrange more efficiently for goals of CT, Florence, Montepulciano, Rome?

Thank you very much.

I checked some or your prior posts. What is confusing to you? Also, are we talking Spring or October? I see both mentioned.

I'm unclear what you are expecting in response to this new post. I'm not sure how you could arrange the trip more efficiently with your goals and the amount of time you've alloted. The only thing I'd look at is the logistics of going Florence-CT-Montepulciano-Rome instead of your Florence-CT-Florence-Montepulciano-Rome.

If you are confused by responses to a prior post, it would be better to respond there, so others can see and address your confusion.

If the source of your confusion is conflicting advice by different people, that is just going to happen again here. People here have different opinions and different travel styles. There is usually no one "right" way to travel. Often younwill have to weight the different opinions and decide what works best for your needs and goals.

OK. There was a post on my earlier string that there was a lot of wasted time in my itinerary by starting in Florence going to CT and then coming back to Florence, but it wasn't clear to me how to correct it. I did follow up on that string but there was no answer, so I started this question to see if someone else saw the same thing and could help me.

We have had to change/postpone this trip for various reasons. At one time it was to be a spring trip.

Thanks for the help.

"it wasn't clear to me how to correct it."

Stay in Florence first;

Train at 7:54AM from the Campo di Marte station to the CT village of your choice. If this is the beginning of Oct [the post I am recalling] stay in Riomaggiore, as there are cruise ships every day;

Train to La Spezia and a Hertz rental; enjoy the Val di Orcia:

Forty minute drive to Chiusi for the car return, train to Rome at 10:54AM [on Sunday drive to Rome].
