Looking into the possibility of taking a ferry or hydrafoil from Naples to Positano... does anyone have info and/or prices on this? Thank you!!!
If you take the ferry or hydrafoil from Naples to Positano, I don't think it will be direct. You will go to Sorrento first. You might look into taking the train to Salerno and taking the hydrofoil from there to Positano. The ferry dock at Salerno (- Piazza della Concordia jetty) is about 3 blocks/ 5 mins walk from the railway station. You'll probably get there faster and you go by the very scenic Amalfi Coast.
CLICK HERE to see a ferry schedule from Salerno. I'm not sure if you can get a hydrofoil from Salerno to Positano. It also doesn't show an off-season schedule when ferry runs are limited.
The Ferry will stop in Sorrento. Then you can go on to Positano. I think the hydrafoils go to Capri.
Thanks Larry & Sally!!!
There is a ferry from Naples to Positano. I was there two years ago and the cost was about $9.00 U.S. You can catch it at the Porto di Napoli. They run from Naples, Sorrento, Positano, Capri, Amalfi, etc. back and forth throughout the day. Make sure to check for times on the last ferry leaving your destination so that you are sure of catching one back. Just as a p.s., if you purchase Rick Steves Italy 2008, it has all types of helpful information. I found it to be a great guidebook.
