Hello! I need some help determining the "fastest" and most cost effective means to go between these cities, in this order. Depart Monterosso on July 27, 2012; two nights in each city before Rome. I see a 5 hour train trip from Monterosso to Venice - but, which railway? I tried BAHN but could not book online. Thanks for any help/tips you can provide.
www.trenitalia.com is the official Italian railway site. You want Venezia Santa Lucia as your Venice destination station. that's the one in Venice proper there is an option for english on the website if you need it.
Thanks, Ron! I booked the train to Venice. If anyone can give me some more specific tips about the Venice to Siena, and Siena to Rome legs, I would appreciate it! I know I read about taking the SETA bus to Siena, but I am not sure if I can pre-book/pay for that online, or if I need to go to the bus station. Also read that a bus or train from Rome to Siena is about the same time commitment & some recommended the bus. I would like to hear if that is still the case and how to reserve that. THANK YOU so much!
