Need help with Florence itinerary during Feast of St. John the Baptist - June 24

Hi....so I booked my tours...then got an email that the Master Cooking Class through Florencetours that I was finally ready to book is not available on June 24 because it is a holiday . Now I need to move everything around! Ugh. I don't know what to do first because I didn't want to run, run, run. I tried to space it so we would be local one day, then travel the next. Need some advice.

Here is what I had....

June 21 Arrival around 3-4 pm. Nothing planned.
June 22 - Tours by Roberto - Brunello Val D'Orcia tour
June 23 - Accademia Florence Tour - Looking for a new one that has Accademia and Duomo climb with walking tour.
June 24 - Cooking class with Market Food Tour
June 25 - Pisa (taking a train) Mozzarella Friscu experience and then see Pisa Tower
June 26 - Travel to Sorrento

I did contact Roberto tours to see if I could do the tour on the 24th. Maybe that would be the easiest solution because it seems like things will be closed locally. The 24th is my son's birthday, so I wanted to do the food tour that day and be local, but it seems to be a problem :( But, at least I now hear there will be fireworks...that's a plus. We have reservations at Zaza restaurant in San Lorenzo Mercato Centrale at 8pm. Any idea if fireworks are nearby?

Well, it does seem like a lot, but we want to go on a wine tour, we want to see Florence, we would like to have a cooking experience. The only thing I could eliminate is Pisa I guess? I don't really consider a cooking experience as a tour, though!

I think you should stay in Florence and enjoy the holiday on the 24th. I’m sad we are flying home on the 23rd. I’d change our flight but my daughter needs a couple days at home before she is off to camp. My friends were in Florence last year on the holiday and it looked incredible! They ate dinner on the patio of the restaurant looking at Ponte Vecchio and watched the fireworks in the opposite direction. They loved it- feel blessed to be there during that time!

Fireworks are from the Piazzale Michelangelo across the river and people will be all over the bridges to watch and it is awesome. I also noted a lot of tours. I don't think you need a tour for the Duomo climb or to walk around the city. Pisa also.... just go and see it and do the climb. Use the Rick Steves book if necessary and learn and read before and during your trip.
