Need help with Florence Accomodations

I have my Italy trip planned, but am having trouble finding good budget hotels in Florence. In Paris and Rome, I have managed to find Ibis and Mercure that charge me 75-90 dollars per night (which I split with my brother). There are no such places in central Florence. Any recommendationis either hostel or hotel?

Istituo Gould, Ostello Archi Rossi and Suore Oblate dell' Assunzione are hostels.

Ottaviani, Hotel Merlini and Hotel Dali are all considered budget hotels.

I just booked 3 nights in Florence's Casa Santo Nome di Gesu. It's a convent in central Florence out of Rick's book, fairly close to the Pitti Palace. Here is their website where you can check out prices/pictures and contact them:

I am paying 70 euros for a double room with shared bath, but they have rooms with private baths also.

RD, I stayed at Hotel Aldobrandini on my last visit to Florence, and would certainly recommend it. It's within easy walking distance to Firenze SMN train station, and in a good location for reaching other important sites.

Good luck and happy travels!

Residenza Il Villino is a B&B in a good location. Elizabeth and Sergio will treat you like Mom and Dad. They are unbelieveably nice, the B&B is wonderful, breakfast included and it's cheap for Florence. Rick Steves really missed the mark by not including this place in his book.

We spent a week at Hotel Dali in Florence. GREAT location and the owners Samanta and Marco are delightful. It's about three blocks behind the Duomo which is an excellent location with nearby cafes internet site market and laundromat. Rooms were good size charming and very clean. We paid 65 euro for a double with shared bath.
