Hi everyone,
I have been reading this forum and others too for quite a while, and I am hoping to get advice from people who know Italy well.
We are a family of three (two adults and our 10-year-old son), planning around 10 day trip (excluding travel days). We have already visited Venice and the Dolomites, so would like to experience other part of Italy. This is planning for last week of March 2027.
Our priorities are:
- Photography (probably our #1 priority)
- Beautiful architecture and historic towns
- Scenic landscapes and worthwhile drives
- We don't mind driving if the scenery justifies it
Things we generally don't prioritize - Museums, shopping, nightlife.
After a lot of research I realized that Italy is BIG and beautiful overall and I am trying to narrow down from these options:
1- Tuscany + Maremma + Umbria + Rome
2- Puglia + Matera
3- Sicily
4- Amalfi Coast + Naples + Capri + Pompeii
Which option would you choose for a first trip based on our interests, or if there are factors based on which we should decide ? We are fine to use public transport, rental car, train or mix-n-match. Pleaser advice.
Thank you.
