My wife and I are planning to visit Italy in late November. We have visited major cities like Rome, Florence and Venice before but have not visited Cinque Terre yet. Would the weather be okay to visit CT in late November? Should we be concerned about the weather in late November?
Thanks for the help.
Yes, you should be concerned about the weather in late November in the CT. It is a place to do outdoor things, there is very little to do in bad weather, except eat and drink and some of those places will be shut down by late November. Be cautious and not accidentally misled if someone writes in and says: we were there in late November and had great weather, that would be an anomaly. You want to go with the long term averages here, which you can get on weather.com, input La Spezia and click Records & Averages to see the 30 yr long term avg weather by month.
The weather will be very iffy in late November. Count on chilly , rainy, windy, overcast. I lived in northern Italy for several years (near Venice) and thats what November was like alot of the time. September is the ideal month and October will still be pretty good. Of course, you could luck out.
Thanks for all the feedback. This will surely help making the decision whether to visit CT or not.
I was just in CT and it is definitely a place to see in the summer when it's warm. It poured down rain one day from 8AM to 2pm and there is nothing to do when it's raining and cold. Some of the trails were closed the next day because of all the rain.
