Need help adjusting itinerary

This is not my first time to Italy. But it is my brothers. I usually go at least 11 nights. This time, we are in Italy for only 10 nights.
Should I eliminate Amalfi or reduce a night in Florence?

This sounds like a fun trip with your brother. The Amalfi leg of your trip is the one outlier in your schedule for a 10 night trip. The train from Venice to Florence will take ~2-2.5hrs and then if you take the train from Florence to Amalfi the fastest ~6 hours 15 minutes, so you will take a full day to get to the Amalfi Coast. You could fly from Florence to Naples and then take train or car service to Amalfi coast to save some time, but you are still going to burn half a day.

If you absolutely must see the Amalfi coast, then you do it and either reduce a day in Florence or Venice to add to Amalfi portion of the trip. It will be very difficult with the travel time from Florence to the Amalfi coast to even get a full day there without making that adjustment.

Have a great trip.

Definitely cut out the Amalfi Coast and add a night to Florence and take a direct bus to Siena for the day or add a night to Rome if visiting Vatican City.

If you must see the ocean, you could add a night to Florence and, if you feel like it, take a day trip out to the Cinque Terre. Still a lot of hours on a train but much more practical than the detour for a night down to Amalfi.

I agree with others, Amalfi should be saved for another trip. I'd use the days saved at Amalfi in Rome.
