We are going to Florence. I've heard to shop for leather there, but where?
Also- what about jewelry- any silver?

Ponte Vecchio is where you go to buy gold. Italy is known for gold not really sure about silver???? Maybe you should hit Mexico for that (just kidding). You can find leather everywhere in Florence. You can buy it at the leather market just ask anyone where it is and they will direct you. You can bargain with them!!!!!

tiffani, the Ponte Vecchio is for gold, but expensive to shop on the actual bridge. It would be better to use a gold/jewelry store before you get to the bridge or another jewelry store in the center of town. My mother shopped at Gioielleria Caselli on Por S.Maria 24R, you will see it before you get to Ponte Vecchio from the Leather Market where there is a Bronze Pig or Hog. My Mother has shopped there for years, and the people who own it are easy to deal with and are honest.
For Leather,before you get to the Ponte Vecchio there is a Mercato where the Bronze pig is/before you get to Gioielleria Caselli.
