we plan to drive to Civita di Bagnoregio from Orvieto in the morning the continue to Saturnia Spa later in the afternoon/evening. Is there any other place around we could go for another stroll or eat?
We like small town, touristy is fine as long as it's not too big of an area.

You would pass by Lake Bolsena on the way to the spa from Civita. We visited the town of Bolsena on the lake from Orvieto. Charming little town. Also had a miracle happen in their church.

Since from Civita to Saturnia you must pass also by Pitigliano, I would consider a visit to that famous town a must.

any eating recommendation in Bolsena? it'd be a lovely place for lunch on the way to Pitigliano. I also got recommendation for dinner at Da Paolo at Manciano
Pitigliano's Vie Cave looks interesting. we'd visit by car and would spend a while exploring the road. I browsed there're some scattered west of the Pitigliano ie. San Giuseppe; Fratenutti; Poggio Cani and there's one in Gradone that's now a museum of archeology? which one is in its best form since i read there are some that lacks of maintenance and muddy. We'll park our car nearby
