Does anyone know of a clean inexpensive B&B or hotel near the cruise dock? Also how far is the cruise dock from St.Marks square? We will be taking the Royal Carribean Splendor cruise next June and would like to fly into Venice a day or two ahead of our departure. I can't seem to get my private profile messages. So if you could just respond to this site I would appreciate it. I'm with aol and I don't know if others with that provider have had problems, but I have. Thanks so much for your help! Sharon

There are lots of clean places to stay near the cruise docks but unforunately, "inexpensive" doesn't translate well in Venice. There are numerous places to stay within walking distance of both the cruise terminals and the Piazzale Roma. CLICK HERE to see a bunch.
Your closeest vaporetto stops would most likely be the Piazzale Roma or Zattere. The cruise docks are about 20 minutes away from St. Marks.

The hotels closes to the cruise dock are those nearest the train station. There are many reasonably priced places as long as you don't mind bathrooms on the hall. The Santa Lucia is my favorite.
