The Uffizi Gallery has had a massive makeover with 14 new rooms and never before displayed works by women and people of color.

We went to the Uffizi Gallery in December 2015. It was a perfect time to visit. We took a Walks of Italy tour and our guide had a Master's degree in art history. There were only 6 of us in the group, he didn't even bother with the headset.
It was not crowded at all and we went on a day they stayed open until 8:00. After the tour, we did our own exploring. We stayed as until the last bus back to Greve and our agriturismo. We try not to stand out and must be fairly successful. Outside the Uffizi a couple needing directions approached us and asked us if we spoke English.

Who needs another reason to visit Florence? I'm looking for a reason NOT to go back there! At first I thought that maybe not going during the hot, humid summer might be a reason but then I remembered they have plenty of places to get a spritz or a gelato or a great meal or a quick espresso, or a great uncrowded interesting side street, or . . . never mind, there's no reason to NOT go back to Florence!
