I have purchased tickets to visit the Necropolis, do I still need to purchase another ticket to go into the rest of the Vatican

Depends on what you mean by "the Vatican". For the Vatican museum, yes you need tickets. To see St. Peter's Basilica, no you do not. Have a great time. (We have tickets for the Scavi tour for May and can't wait.)
