Navigating the Trenitalia site

Checking out transportation times and prices now.

Landing at MPX at 8:45 a.m.
taking shuttle, bus or whatever to Centrale.
Taking train to Torino.
I found the info on times, etc, but I can't go beyond and see the price,
The train is a Frecciarossa, Can I buy these tickets at the airport or RR station? Do I have to get them ahead of time?
I can't see if there is a Regionale train to Torino. I suppose it would take longer but cost less over all.

Everyone has been much help. Got the hotels now, on to getting around :))
tnx much

Nanc,

You can easily buy your tickets up to 120 days in advance at a discounted price, however, having said this, it's not recommended to buy train tickets in advance for you arrival day due to unforeseen delays ( flight delays, customs/immigration, luggage claim, etc..)

Yes, you can buy your tickets at the train ticket counter at the airport.

You will want to take the 'Malpensa Express' train from MPX to Milano Centrale ( 52 mins. travel time)
then you will transfer to the freccia train heading to Torino.

Have a wonderful trip!

Thanks for the tip about not buying tickets for the day of arrival. I had never done this before, but this time
our time is a little tighter. So glad to hear that.

Yes, when you get the hang of it it isn't too bad to manage..

Trouble is I stay up too late at night doing this. Sometimes I think my brain just drops off while I struggle !!

Have a wonderful trip!

Thanks, we plan on it...

Yes, there are Regionale Veloce trains every hour at 18 past the hour from 5 am to 11 pm except for 10 am. There are extra trains at morning and afternoon rush hours weekdays. They take 1 hour 52 minutes and cost 12.25 euro 2nd cl.

Nanc,

Darioalb is absolutely right! I also stayed up too late & my brain just dropped off!

The bus is faster than the train(s) but just make sure you know which stop you want to get off at once you arrive to Torino.

Have a great trip!

Our hotel is in the vicinity of Porto Nuovo Sta. Will the bus stop near there???

I really appreciate all the suggestions. Thanks a LOT...

Nanc,

I have not traveled to Torino but by looking at the bus schedule it looks like your best option is to get off at the last stop which is 'TORINO Autostazione Comunale' (bus terminal) on Corso Vittorio Emanuele II 131 : http://www.sadem.it/media/5191/000020.pdf

The train station (Porta Nuova) is located on the same street about 1.2 Km Southeast.( check google maps for details)

I'd suggest you contact your hotel & ask best way to get there from bus terminal.

Your best option may be to take a taxi to your hotel from the bus station.

Keep in mind that the Malpensa-Torino Airport bus shuttle runs every 2 hours, so depending on what time your flight arrives, you may have to wait 2 hours for the next bus to Torino.

So weigh your options. If I had to wait 2 hours for the next bus, I'd opt for the train option as mentioned above.
