Has anyone taken the roundtrip vintage nature train? It leaves from siena and stops at many hamlets in the Val d'Orcia. It looks like it may be a good way to see some of Tuscany without a car, but wanted to hear other traveler's experience. Or does anyone have suggestions for towns in tuscany between siena and rome that are accessible by public transportation? I'd planned on Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoreggio, but will be there over a sunday when I can't get a bus to Civita. Thanks!
I've never heard of it but I found the website. It looks really interesting. You may have found the website as well. For others, CLICK HERE for more info on this train.
I had a hard time figuring out if the train actaully stops at the small towns or just passes through. If you can actually get off and then get off at a few towns it looks very interesting.
