http://www.mit.gov.it/mit/site.php?p=scioperi It's always wise in Italy to keep an eye out for the word "SCIOPERO" in the headlines of the newspapers that you pass on the street. If see the word, for sure ask what it's about... taxi, bus, train strikes, etc. tend to be common enough in Italy and are usually announced a couple of days ahead of time.
