My partner and I are planning our itinerary for Italy in April of this year. It turns out we will be on the Amlafi Coast over the April 25th and May 1 national holidays. (Liberation Day and Labor Day respectively). We have accommodations set for those nights.
My question is does anyone know if public transportation is impacted (more or less options for doing daytrips) on national holidays.
On the 1st we need to go from the island of Ischia to Naples so we can fly out on the 2nd. Our hotel is booked for the 2nd and we have an airport shuttle that has been confirmed for the morning of the 2nd. I understand many things close during these holidays but I would imagine city/town festivals would take the place of some of the tourist venues??
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
All transportation will be operating on a Sunday/Holiday schedule.
As in the US on holidays, the only things that close are businesses (like offices and factories), banks, government offices. Shops and stores may also observe Sundays’ hours, but they are open, especially in tourist areas (maybe they close in non tourist areas but not where you are going).
