I'm traveling by train from Milan to Venice and would love to stop and see the wonderful "prehistoric" rock art. CAn I do this by train?
We were there last June, and I highly recommend it. My suggestion is that you try to get a day tour. We had a car, so were able to get to the Nat'l Park on our own. We happened upon an English speaking guide about to start her group. Afterwards, we agreed it made the experience much more worthwhile, as she gave us loads of information about what we were seeing. The entrance to the park is in the tiny town of Capo di Ponte. You might be able to get more information from the TI office there. That's where we hooked up with the tour. It was really awesome - -a part of Italy little known to tourists, and different from anything we've seen anywhere.
