Naples with bad knees and back

I am now getting worried about visiting Naples this November after watching videos of walking tours. Looks like a lot of hills. Not sure how I missed this when we were planning our trip. We are staying near the water where the ferries come and go.
I know we can get taxis and tams to get from point A to point B, but I would love some advice and recommendations as to areas that are easier on knees and back. It really stinks getting old!!!
Thanks. :-)

The metro system in Naples is excellent and most stations have elevators. I would not take a walking tour. Pick some places you really want to see and concentrate on the best ways to get there. Google maps allows you to put in wheelchair accessible as a search option which will let you see which bus routes have lifts if needed. Are you locked into your accommodation? I use a wheelchair for any distances over a few blocks. I always make sure any accommodation has an elevator.
We always stay in Vomero near a metro station. We like Vomero because it is calmer and has wonderful streets to stroll and explore.

We have walking issues so took a hop on hop off bus tour. There is a stop by the Archeological Museum. The Main Street in front of the museum is flat and leads to simple restaurants and the busy local market street. All downhill from the museum to the port/train station.

Hi there, are you still planning on Florence, Rome & Naples? (I looked at your thread about clothing in November.) Frankly I would also be concerned about Rome - You will want to think ahead to avoid hills there, or climbing stairs for example to the Capitoline museum.

I also wanted to ask if you're planning a day trip to Pompeii or Herculaneum? Because frankly with bad knees I would skip Herculaneum since there's no avoiding a large hill you have to descend & go back up. There's an accessible route coming into the Pompeii ruins from the Amphitheater entrance, which would avoid a steep hill at the main entrance. Let us know, I'm sure there's more advice here about Rome as well. I hope your trip goes well, being in pain is no fun.
