Naples - Where to Stay?

I don't know why but I just can't seem to find a convincing place/area to stay in Naples. I have so far booked and cancelled three AirBnBs and I'm so sorry about it! Please help!

I will be in Naples in early October, on a weekend, will reach on Saturday at 2pm and leave on Monday at 9.30 am.
Food, loud warm happy culture and the exquisite statues in Capella Sansevero are the main reasons to visit Naples.
Wondering if I can squeeze in a half day trip to Ischia on Sunday morning since most of Naples will be closed?

What area should I stay in? What is safe? What is not safe?
What is beautiful? What is a mess? And what is a beautiful mess?

I generally stay at a small BandB called Orsini 46 in the San Ferdinando neighborhood. The family that own it are lovely, the breakfast is terrific and the area is hopping with restaurants and bars. It’s easily accessible by Metro and the port and seafront are minutes away on foot. I love Napoli and can’t imagine staying anywhere else, unless the duration of my stay demanded a kitchen or laundry facilities.
