Naples wheelchair accessibility

Hello!
I am a manual wheelchair user planning a month-long stay in Naples this June, 2023. I have scraped together bits and pieces of accessibility information about the city and region from various blogs/forums, but am still left with many questions. Hoping this can be a place for others with mobility challenges to share info.

Thank you.

My first question is regarding the wheelchair accessibility of the Napoli Centrale (Central Naples) train station. I know it has some lifts/elevators, but am unsure if there are enough of them to allow for full access to the station and adjoining metro Piazza Garibaldi. For examples, I have confirmed that there are no lifts to access the Circumvesius trains at this station (Porta Nolana station, however, does have lefts to access Circumvesius). I need to know whether it's accessible for accessing the metro. We are flying into Rome and will take the train to Napoli Centrale then use metro line 1 to get to our hotel (if accessible).

Thank you!

I use a wheelchair for any sightseeing and was just in Naples. The only working elevator I found to access the metro from the central train station was by taking the elevator in the station down to the metro level. All in all it took a few elevators to get to the actual metro platform. But thefe were some signs and people were helpful. Many buses have wheelchair ramps. And most main intersections have curb cuts.
Do you know where you’ll be lodging? Also, are you traveling with anyone?

Hi Becky! Thank you for your response. It sounds like getting between the central train station and metro is possible through elevators, which is great to know. I had heard that the buses weren't accessible at all, so that's helpful. Did you rely on the buses often? We're still confirming lodging, but we're looking at a place southwest of the central station, very near to the Università metro station. Yes, I'll be traveling with my partner who is able bodied.

Do you know about the Salon Blue wheelchair assist for Trenitalia trains? They assist with boarding and unboarding trains at most train stations. But this service requires arranging ahead of time. Also, do you use Google maps? If so, you can search for various public transportation routes that are wheelchair accessible.
