Naples walking/food tour recommendations

Hi everyone.

My wife and I are currently in Rome and will be on our way to Sorrento and the Amalfi coast in a few days.
The trip has been great so far!!
We would like to do a day trip into Naples and are wondering if anyone has experience with a walking history or food tour of the city?
TripAdvisor is not much help so grazie mille in advance!!

I know lots of people here do not like Viator, but I have taken three of their day tours in Italy and been happy.
We took an early evening street food tour with them in Naples in 2019, and it was pretty good.

Viator doesn't operate any tours at all. It is just a re-seller of other companies' tours. You can figure out the name of the company actually operating the tour by scrolling down on the listing page and clicking on "Additional Info". You should find the name of the company there. If you book directly with that company, either the company or you--or both--will come out ahead financially, because Viator takes a very large cut when you book through it.

I would certainly go to Naples on my own (as I suspect you're planning to do), taking advantage of the very fast rail service. Pick up a tour in Naples. I haven't taken any, so I cannot offer a personal recommendation.

The Mondo/Shared Tours folks have a three-hour walking tour of Naples: https://www.sharedtours.com/. Scroll down a bit to see the Naples tour. The tours need at least six participants to run, so this may not work out for you. I don't know whether you can tell from the website how many folks have signed up.

I have not personally experienced Culinary Backstreets in Naples, but I signed up for a tour later in May based on a positive recommendation from the blog An American in Rome. My friends in NY have been on a Culinary Backstreets tour of Queens, NYC, and they loved it. Enjoy your time in Italy!

hey hey jcadwell
we spent a day trip from rome here few years back and enjoy it. many either hate it or love it. it's a crazy, busy, and gritty city. yes there was garbage around, the people were so nice using hands to talk which was fun and interesting.
