Or you can take the train to Sorrento. Attempting to drive in Naples it not something I'd recommend unless you are used to that kind of traffic.

You don't want a car in Sorrento, either, because there is almost no parking available. And you stay in Sorrento for the transit connections, like ferries, SITA busses, and the gritty, crowded Circumvesuviana train, which serves Pompeii and Herculaneum, for instance. I'm not recommending the train for your transfer unless your budget is rock-bottom, or you have read enough other discussions here to understand how crowded and hot the train can be. We used it "to Sorrento", but gladly paid for a car service from our hotel back to the Naples rail station. Our hotel had a land services partner.

I'd suggest taking the train, as it's the quickest and easiest method. When you arrive in Sorrento you can either walk to your hotel or take a taxi, depending on far it is from the station.

Sorry to everybody, i mistakenly added car rental when what i wanted to say was "are there any car transfers or shuttle services available?"

Neither me nor my husband can drive so renting a car to drive is definitely not an option.LOL.
