Naples to Venice

Hello,
We are 3 senior women who will be traveling in October and need to go from Naples to Venice.
Two of us have been to Italy, it’s the first trip for our other friend. We have five days before we fly home from Venice. We are considering a train, plane or private driver. Thanks for any feedback.

You can get there by direct train in 5 1/2 hours. Too early to book now, but it looks like could get business class seats for about 70 EUR per person. That is a lot faster than by car and probably about the same as by air when the travel time to/from the airports, security, early arrival requirements are considered.

Train takes you city center to city center
No need to deal with security, check in, transportation to/from airports

Take a picnic lunch and enjoy the ride

(A private driver will cost megabucks)

Pre-covid, we had booked EasyJet from Venice to Naples. Of course that flight was canceled, and we were refunded all of our money. I believe the flight was 1.5 hrs. Not sure if the service is still offered.
Safe traves!

The train is a no-hassle trip. Flying means all the inconveniences of getting to/from the airport, going through security check, checking luggage (carry-on limits are often stricter for internal flights) and waiting for it at the carousel, and all the wait time. The train is relaxing. And the train may be faster than a car, plus a car won't get you any closer to Venice than the train will. I took the train from Venice to Florence, then from Florence to Rome and it was hitting speeds of 170 kph and over.

Be sure to book the train to the Venezia Santa Lucia Station, not Venezia Mestre.
