I will be in Naples for one day on a cruise and was thinking about skipping Naples and going to Sorrento and Positano instead. Can all this be accomplished in one day? I'm realy looking forward to the bus ride from Sorrento to Positano, but can we take a boat from Positano all the way back to Naples? Am I being to aggressive for one day? Any suggestions are apreciated.

Dennis - Will you have a full day to work with? Are you traveling in the summer?
You can get to Sorrento and Positano and back in a day but the train and bus connection through Sorrento to Naples can be chancy. In the summer, there are a couple of ferries that run from Positano back to Naples.
If you could provide more details about your schedule, others here or I could probably get a little more info for you.

We will be arriving in Naples late May 2010 on a cruise. The cruise line states we will arrive at 7am and depart at 7 pm. If we get the first hydrofoil at 9 am can we make it to sorrento catch the bus to Positano, spend some time there and make it back to Naples by 7pm.
