Naples to Sicily or Greece?? Ideas please.

Hello. My husband and I are traveling to Italy in May. (We visited last year and enjoyed ourselves so much, we decided to return and visit the southern parts.) We are flying in and out of Rome. Taking the train to Sorrento the following day and staying for 5 nights. I am not sure what to do with the last 5 days of our trip. I would like to go to Sicily. Is Greece an option or is that too much time spent traveling?

We did Sorrento and Western Sicily last March and it was so great we are planning a return to do the Eastern area. Flew to Rome, train to Naples, Circumves to Sorrento:We took the bus from Sorrento to Naples airport and flew to Palermo, rented a Punta, and covered the Western part of the island down to temples at Agrigento. Palermo was gritty and great, and Monreale is not to be missed. When done, it was an easy flight back to Rome from Palermo.
I would shorten the stay at Sorrento to 4 nights and add one for Sicily; in that time frame, we did Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast, and Pompei, along with a long hike down from Ravello back to Amalfi, and the weather was gorgeous. It will probably be a lot warmer down there in May, and a lot drier, however, the people in both places are wonderful-even in Palermo. We wanted more time in Sicily as it is more "back door" than Sorrento and the Amalfi coast. We used Ricks' guide to the Amalfi on our IPad, and DK's Top 10 guides for the Amalfi and for Sicily.
