Can anyone make recommendation as to the station with the fastest trains going from Naples to Rome?

Thanks for any suggestions!

We took an express train from Naples Central to Termini last May. It took a little over an hour. We bought tickets at the station and all was good. As long as you are on an express train, wherever you board will get to Rome quickly.

Napoli Centrale is the main train station in Naples.
Are you going to Rome to spend some time there? You're not wanting to go from Naples to Fiumicino airport to catch a flight, correct?

You'll want a Trenitalia or Italo "fast" train, no changes, and if going to Rome's city center, the station you'll want is Termini.

Most high speed trains going north either depart from or stop at Napoli Centrale. Some call at Napoli Afragola after Napoli Centrale.

A few high speed trains from Bari or Salerno may call only at Napoli Afragola, bypassing Napoli Centrale.

Both trenitalia.com and italotreno.it show the time of travel for each train, by departure hour.

Almost all high speed trains from southern Italy stop at Roma Tiburtina after Roma Termini. The cheap FL1 airport train to FCO stops there, too.Buses to Siena depart from a depot close to Tiburtina.

Yep, there's Tiburtina too. It's just not as central as Termini, thus the omission.
But it can be a choice if one is staying closer to that end of town.

A few high speed trains from Bari or Salerno may call only at Napoli
Afragola.

Good call, Dario. It might help to know where the OP's journey originates from?

Greetings, all:

Please note the thread starts with "Naples to Rome", LOL!

Just wanted to know which Napoli station had the most flexiblity. We will take a FrecciaRossa or an Italo to Termini & then taxi or walk to our hotel in Trastevere.

The FrecciaRossa from Firenze to Roma last year (RS HOI tour, June) was just so easy & quick...

Thanks again, All.

brhrbr, it was possible you were coming into Naples from somewhere else, and that there might be a different option than Naples Centrale if we knew what that somewhere was. But never mind.

As it turns out, will be coming from the "last night" hotel (in central Naples) of the RS Best of South Italy tour this summer.

Thanks again, all!

Last year, we took the slower regional train from Naples Centrale to Termini. We left after checking out of our hotel in the morning and arrived in time to check into our hotel in Rome, very close to Termini. I think it was about 3 hours. My sister was also in Naples but didn't want to spend that much time on the train so she paid more and took the fast train, supposedly about an hour. Unfortunately for her, they happened to be doing maintenance that affected her train (but not ours) it took 3 hours and didn't stop at Termini, went to Tiburtina instead. Then she had to take the subway to get back to Termini.
I know that was just a one off type of event, but it can happen. Anyway, don't forget to check for scheduled maintenance and strikes for the day you travel.

Once you get to Termini Station in Rome, unless you are a much better walker than me, it's too far to walk to Trastevere. You can take a taxi, or there is a bus (Bus H) that you could catch right outside the train station which will take you to Trastevere, and doesn't stop at that many stops along the way. You could check the route list for the H bus to see which one of the stops in Trastevere is best for you.
