Naples to Rome

We will be taking the South of Italy tour which ends in Naples but we need to get to Rome for our flight, what is the best reasonable option to get from Naples to Rome. We are not flying the same day, we have several days scheduled in Rome so there is no hurry just need to get there.

Take the train. I think it is about an hour and half or so depending on which train. Unless you rent a car, that is about the only option.

We added an extra day in Naples and then took the train to Rome for a few more days. The train was easy and there were some nice shops in the train station.

The Archaeological Museum is excellent; it has a lot of the best decorative pieces found at Pompeii. Many people like to go to the Capella Sansevero to see The Veiled Christ; that's something you need to book well ahead of time, because it sells out.

Naples has a number of other worthwhile museums and many beautiful churches and religious complexes. The San Gennaro treasure is gorgeous. The streets are lively and the pizza is excellent. And hotels are reasonably priced.
