It looks like there is a bus from Naples to Matera, but I'm not sure- can anyone confirm?
Also, I'll be going from Matera to Alberobello and all I can find is a private shuttle that is 70 euros. Does anyone know if there is a local bus or train?

You can take the Frecciarossa from Napoli Centrale to Matera, but you will switch to the FrecciaLink bus at Salerno. There are only a couple of departures per day. This is all on one journey, the bus will wait for the train if necessary.
Alternatively, you can take the train from Napoli to Bari Centrale, then walk around the corner to the smaller train station and take a train from Bari to Matera. Many more choices of times to travel. Matera Sud is closer to the Sassi, if your accommodations are in that area.
From Matera to Alberobello, take the train to Bari and a bus to Alberobello.
