Naples Sorrento Amalfi

All this conversation about Amalfi makesme glad I booked 4 nights in Sorrento. It looks like a train to Sorrento from Naples is about an hour. how long on the boats (ferry?) how about the price?
Any tips on something to see thats not in the guide books. We will not have a car as advised

Thanks
Tina

The ferry can be faster than the train.

The ferries depend on which ferry company you travel with, but they take 35-40 minutes if you get a direct ferry or a ferry with only one stop. It can take up to 2 hours if you take a ferry with multiple stops.

As for pricing, it costs either 6.50 EUR or 11 EUR for a one way ticket, depending on which company you travel with. More here on ferries from Naples to Sorrento.

Hi Tina! You will be glad for those 4 nights in Sorrento. It is a magical town! As for something to see that is not in the guide books... take a few hours and wonder around town and get "lost". Sit in a cafe near the sidewalk, order a coffee, and people watch. Take it all in. Also, there is a lovely lemon/orange grove/garden somewhere in town. I believe it is called "The lemon garden". They sell a delightful lemoncello there and also give free tastes. Oh! Also make sure to get gelato from a place called Davids. Divine! Most of all, enjoy yourself!
