Naples Restaurants

Looking for restaurants in Naples that serve classic Neapolitan. I have a decent list of pizzerias already, but if folks want to put in their vote for "the best Naples pizza", feel free.

I did do a forum search. There are not many recent recs. Yes, I have the newest RS guide as well as LP and Fodor's. One restaurant that has fallen out in my research is Mimi all Ferrovia, but I could use a couple more.

Thanks!

We really enjoyed Tandem Ragu. We went to the one on Via Paladino. Got there early without a reservation and I think we got the last available spot. And they can accommodate gluten free, for anyone who may be interested.
For pizza, Pizzeria Vesi made us both very happy. Hubby had regular pizza and I had gluten free. We actually went twice we enjoyed it so much.

We'll be back in December and after a bit of research, we are looking forward to trying Pizzaria Sorbillo. There are a few places with the name Sorbillo but the one at Via dei Tribunali, 38 seems to be the winner. I'll let you know how we like it.

Looking forward to seeing other recommendations, too. We still need to find places for a couple of meals.

We also enjoyed Tandem located in Via Giovanni Paladino 51.

We are travelling to Naples early next year for two weeks and will certainly head back to Tandem. My husband loved the meatballs.

We like Antica Trattoria Da Carmine on Via del Tribunali.
The best pizza we had was at 50Kalo.
If you’ll have a car before or after Naples, the very best pizza we has was at Pepe in Grani in Caiazzo.

Thank you all for taking the time to provide suggestions!

@Celeste, Question about Pizzeria Sorbillo, on Via dei Tribunali, 38, Then there is one Rick Steves recommends, Gino Sorbillo, then I found this one in the Frommers guide. Pizzeria Gino e Toto Sorbillo, Via Tribunali 32 (close to the address you provided)

@SJ, what is the name of the restaurant? Amavery or Gaetano-adamo?

Ask the front desk at your hotel, they will glad to advise. They probably have connections to get you in as well.

Hi Jules - I saw the same with multiple Sorbillos, but I googled each one and read reviews until I made the decision on the one we'll try. The one I referenced seems to have a broader menu than just pizza, and a lot of gluten free items. If you read enough reviews, you can figure out which is which. https://maps.app.goo.gl/u9XSfVxJAvRPuxe66
Because I have to eat gluten free and both of us feel that food is a major part of the travel experience, a lot of my planning time is spent looking for great places to eat. They do such a great job with GF options in Italy, I can really spoil myself, and I'm not wasting any meals eating salad or plain meat when I can have pizza and pasta!

Back from our trip to update you on where we ate in Naples.

Regarding the two Sorbillos. The one at 38 Tribunali, Pizzeria Antonio Sorbillo, is a small storefront that is easily lost in comparison to the behemoth that is nearly next door. It has an oven near the front and a white tile floor. Maybe 20 tables inside and they also have outside seating. We at there twice. We had a starter both times, husband had "normal" pizza and I had gluten free pizzas and beers (several different GF beers are offered). Everything was fantastic.
We did attempt to go to the big one on the corner (32 Tribunali) for comparison, but they literally serve no food but pizzas and have zero gluten-free options. I didn't like the vibe at all. They pointed us toward a very touristy-looking restaurant across the street with a big "gluten free pizza" sign in the window. We didn't eat there either.

We also ate at La Locanda Gesu Vecchio https://www.lalocandagesuvecchionapoli.it/ Highly recommend. Make reservation well in advance.
