We are not world travelers and our flight home was just changed to day after cruise ends. Need advise as to where to stay, what to see, what to avoid..... Thank you for any information.

I loved the Hotel Piazza Bellini. It is close to the archaeological museum and historic district. Just a 15-20 minute cab to the airport.

Look at Hotel Palazzo Alabardieri near the Bay of Naples in the very nice Chiaia area and near the lungomare( walking path along the water.) it would be a good idea to add a few more days to your trip to enjoy Naples, Capri.

Have you check out any guide books on Naples yet? I would start there because everyone has different interests. There is a lot to see there, one day will be quite short. I recommend the Archeological Museum and the Cappella Sansevero (Veiled Christ) and walking down the Space Napoli and checking out the beautiful churches. The Chiaia area is lovely as a place to stay.
