Tripadvisor has published a list of 10 cities to be especially aware of pickpockets. They are, from 1 to 10:- Barcelona, Rome, Prague, Madrid, Paris, Florence, Buenos Aires, Amsterdam, Athens and Hanoi. And not Naples.

We discussed this list on another post in the "General Europe' section.
I think Naples was originally on the list, but some of the residents didn't like it so they made the authors of the list an offer they couldn't refuse.

Frankly, Naples is not a big tourist destination. Ironically, that is partially due to its reputation for crime.

Doug, that was my point, and what a shame. So many people who post here appear to be scared off. Naples is a great city.
