Naples: Luggage Storage

I will need to store my luggage for the day in Naples before I board the ferry to Palermo. Does anyone know if there is a luggage storage service available at the port? where it is? and how much per bag? Thank you!

Dick,
Thank you for the great detailed information! Nice to know that is an option for us.
We are hoping to find something closer to the terminal where the ferries depart to Sicily
in the evening.
Thank you!

If there is bag storage at the port, it seems to be top secret. Remember that you must board your ferry one hour before the scheduled departure and that the train station baggage office closes at 8 p.m.

Thank you Laura,
My sister has been doing some serious digging. On the port's website they mention luggage storage on their opening page. Then using Google street maps we found the building with a sign that says luggage storage at the port. Now the question is--is it still there? We will have to wait and see! Thanks for your help.

Good Morning!

There is luggage storage at Beverello, if you're facing the ticket windows, go to the right to the end of the building and there's a door on the other side facing the water. Looks a little dodgy, but we used it in July and it was fine. Might not be reliable thought, when we were there over Easter weekend, there was no one working. It's a one man show, so give yourself some extra time to get your bag before your ferry. We came back and the guy was gone, so we had to call him and he appeared in about ten minutes...

The luggage storage at the train station is secure and easy, that might be your best bet. There is a new metro station across from the train station that's easy to use. You can also get a bus from the train station back to the port, but be sure to validate your ticket. We noticed many dodgy passengers fleeing the bus, then realized what was going on when a plainclothes officer flashed a badge and checked our tickets. He wrote two backpackers tickets and escorted them off the bus, he was not joking around.

Enjoy Naples! It's an awesome, gritty city, well worth exploring.
