Naples Hotels

We're looking for a nice hotel/B&B in Naples the first week in June.
We're ending a tour in Florence and plan to take the train to Naples.
We were told (travel agent) Naples is less desirable than Sorrento. (seedy?)
Like any large city, there will be poor elements but Naples is central to many points of interest.
Can anyone recommend a convenient/comfortable/affordable double room with a queen bed.
Like you; we're just trying to get the best bang for our buck.
Thanks
KPH

Orsini46 B & B is absolutely WONDERFUL, well-located, and surprisingly affordable! However, there are only three rooms and it is very popular. Good luck!

You're right; that is a popular place. Booked solid.
I'll keep looking.

You should be able to find a lot of choices on Booking.com (as well as reviews)..also Trip Advisor is a great resource. I would say to ignore travel agents who try to steer you away based on their own prejudices. To begin with, Naples and Sorrento are like apples and oranges in terms of size, attractions and activities so I'm not sure how someone can say "less desirable" when you're talking about a large, dense city that has the characteristics of a large, dense city. Good luck finding a nice place..I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Download the free App for
Bed-And-Breakfast.it
and search for
Piazza del Plebiscito Napoli
and
Chiaia Napoli
Both are excellent areas for lodging and dining, and economical costs.

I use booking.com for pinpointing locations, then do a google street view to see what the immediate area looks like. Sandra's recommendations are spot on.
