Does anyone know of any smaller private tours (maybe family-owned) that get more off the beaten path...live like the locals...or at least immerse more in the culture - in Naples, Italy? I'm excited to see Pompeii but would love to see more of Naples through a local's eyes....

That's the whole point of going to Naples - you will be immersed in the culture and surrounded by locals (rather than tourists), whether you want that or not. Unlike Sorrento, (or, of course, Pompeii) Naples is not dominated by tourists. You don't have to worry about being in a "tourist bubble" there. This is exactly what scares so many off, or what they don't like about it. If it's what you're seeking, I think you'll love it. That said, of course, a tourguide may be helpful in learning more about local culture.

You might want to check Rick's Naples Snapshot Guide. I believe he lists a local guide for Naples.
