Hello, We will be leaving on a Tuesday on a 10am flight out of Naples. We will be staying most of the time in Sorrento. I was thinking of spending one night in Naples (Monday night, the night before our flight leaves) so that we can get to the airport on time and get a slice of pizza. :-) However, I would rather spend another night in Sorrento but I'm a little concerned about getting to the airport in Naples from Sorrento with a 10am flight. Any suggestions on whether we could make it to the airport the morning of our flight or should stay in Naples the night before. And any suggestions on location and a hotel to stay in Naples is appreciated too! Thank you for your help!

If that 10 am flight is headed back to the USA, plan on being in the airport by 7 am- that said, consider staying at or near the Naples airport the night before.

Does Naples even have direct flights to North America? I'd stay pretty close to the airport, anyway.

On my Amalfi Coast trip, I spent the last night in Naples, and was very glad for it. First off, I think Naples is under appreciated. It is worth spending the night. Plus, as you said, getting to Naples Airport from Sorrento is a bit too far for my taste. I actually cashed in Marriott points and stayed at the Renaissance Naples Hotel Mediterraneo - in a good area to tour Naples, and best of all, it was free :-). Quick taxi to the Airport, and we were off. I flew into Naples by way of Milan as it made sense to me as on that trip, I wanted to tour amalfi coast, and didn't make sense flying into Rome (plus, it was my cheapest option at the time). Glenn

Stay in Naples. There are a lot of hotels near the train station which is where you will catch the bus to the airport in the morning. The Mercure Hotel is about two blocks from the bus stop and is a very American type hotel. Enjoy Naples and pizza before you have to go home!
