We will be in Naples 3 nights in mid-September. Will probably visit 2-3 sites but mostly want to walk around and eat good pizza. What area do you recommend we stay in - historic area? Santa Lucia? Somewhere else? Also, is it relatively easy to get around the city?
Thanks.
I saw you asked regarding B and B orsini. We stayed there last year and liked it very much
We go to Napoli every December for that very reason - just to walk around and eat pizza (and sfogliatelle!) We like to stay in the Chiaia district, close to the waterfront. It's a bit out of the really intense historic area but on the Metro line so that we can zip over to that area and be eating pizza within 15-20 minutes' time.
We stayed at Hotel Piazza Bellini and I highly recommend it. We liked the pizza places within walking distance of the hotel. The archeology museum is a quick walk, as well.
We stayed just north of the Spanish Quarter, in the Montecalvario neighborhood. It was frenetic and exciting, and we loved being there for four nights, but I wouldn't typically recommend it to others. The waterfront is very nice, and I'd recommend people stay there.
Thanks everyone. Think I found something that works for us by Piazza Bellini that seems nice, is reasonably priced and claims to be quiet.
