Day trips to Amalfi and Pompeii?
Thanks in advance.
Yes, I do.
What is your question?
Oh ... don't rely on a blog post of 2017 ... Things never stand still in Italy, and certainly not in Naples!
Thanks
What to see, how many days, best ways to see Amalfi coast -- day trip or stay there
Thanks very much
Naples is dirty, loud, chaotic, historic, interesting and frustrating. You may love it or you may hate it. It's different from any city I've ever been to, and I can't wait to go back. Others may say they never visit again. What you're interests are and what you hope to accomplish in the entire region and for how long will determine if Naples is the right base or not. In 2023 we based in Sorrento for two weeks because our priorities were Pompeii, Herculaneum and the Amalfi Coast with a too short day trip to Naples.
The Archeological Museum in Naples is outstanding and you could base an entire trip with a theme that included it and Pompeii/Herculaneum. I'd also recommend a historical tour of Naples that highlights history right back to when it was Greek territory.
The Amalfi Coast is beautiful, but a long day trip. We much preferred Capri and thought the views were just as spectacular. Our next trip to the region will include several days in Naples followed by several days in Capri.
tcgnj, you're going to have to give us more to go on.
"What to see..."
Too broad to answer. What sorts of thing are you interested in?
"Best ways to see Amalfi coast..."
For whom? Seniors with mobility challenges? Families with little children?
Time of year? (matters where transport is concerned)? On tight budgets?
It's only 'best' if best for you.
"Day trips to Amalfi and Pompeii?"
Other than a day trip to Pompeii, for efficiency I'd recommend staying ON the coast for a few days versus taking multiple day trips from Naples. It can be time-consuming to get around the Amalfi region.
