Does anyone have names of hotels in these ares where they stayed .............some I've tried are booked, and am inclined to book where I usually stay near Vatican unless I can find one in these areas......Thanks!
Have a look at Hotel Campo de Fiori www.hotelcampodefiori.com. We liked it
donna,
You might have a look at Casa San Guiseppe in the Trastevere area. It's a great Hotel and the staff are wonderful.
Cheers!
Arco del Lauro or Arco dei Tolomei. Both are located in the same building in Trastevere. I have stayed at both and each are highly rated on TripAdvisor.com. They are ideally located near restaurants and the vibrant Trastevere nightlife and also just across the Tiber from the ancient sites. The Arco del Lauro is less expensive, but their breakfast consists of a coupon that you take to the coffee bar/bakery around the corner. It works for me! The Arco dei Tolomei has a nice breakfast spread, but I found the rooms a little too dowdy for my taste. I prefer the Arco del Lauro. Lorenza is the owner and she is very personable and an excellent host. If you book with her, tell her Scott sent you.
another vote for Casa San Guiseppe in Trastevere. Stayed there with RS tour in late October. Lots of small hole in the wall type restaurants in the area that cater to locals. Short walk to Campo di Fiore (across river) and Vatican, longer walk to historic centre, but all manageable.
Casa Di Santa Brigida - one block from the Campo De Fiore. It's a beautiful, serene, meticulous convent perfectly located for walking all over Rome.
