In Umbria now, with teen boys..

We have 2/8 days left in a villa outside of Todi. We are stuck between Orvieto, and Gubio for our last travel day. One day will be a no travel pool day. Which would you choose and why? TIA

I haven't been to Gubbio, but I've been to Orvieto, and I'm thinking your boys might enjoy the underground tour there. The duomo is particularly beautiful and interesting, too.

Thank you BB, this is very helpful. I've spent a couple nights in Orvieto, but never visited the underground. I'd love to return and they would love this. Orvieto domani. Grazie 🥰

I’ve been to both Gubbio and Orvieto. Gubbio is a fascinating medieval town. Wonderful Roman ruins. I guess it depends on what peaks your teens interest. Probably less touristy in Gubbio. Gubbio was a special day trip for us because our tour guide took us to her family home- Palazzo Ranghiasci. We also took advantage of the views and wandered throughout the town.

On the other hand Orvieto boasts Estruscan ruins, opulent churches, & beautiful facades.
There are 1200 caves under Orvieto! You can visit Museo Claudio Faina for Etruscan Artifacts,
the Archaeological Museum, & the ruins of an Etruscan necropolis. On a clear day visit the amazing views at the top of Torre del Moro. One of our favorite things to do is wander the streets. Charming town.

Both were at the top of our favorite places in Umbria. Enjoy whatever you choose!
