My trip in Italy a few weeks ago was wonderful and it was my first visit to Rome on a 7 day RS Tour. To those wondering about taking this tour it was jam packed with things to do plus you had time to do your own thing alone or with someone in the group. I arrived early so did a day by myself , then at breakfast the second day met someone from the group so spent a few hours with her. Susanna the tour guide could not of done more helping us learn our way around ROME, buses , metro, neighborhoods . What a city , daunting to a newbie to say the least. I've been to Paris and London but Rome is so different. After a few days though much more confident getting around. It would of taken me longer had I been alone , wasted time learning so the tour I think helped me get my money's worth on this trip. Colossuem , Forum, Borghese Gallery , Vatican all of these with private guides too. Experts ,so knowledgeable and you can tell ALL of these guides that we used loved what they do. Not just love but passionate too, makes a difference to how we saw Rome and the history. My husband wanted to know why I took so many pictures , 2000 in 9 days. I can't just take one picture of a building, or the unique Umbrella Trees , the broken marble pieces on the Pantheon , stones with ancient ruts from Ostia Antica called out to me.. remember . Well it was a trip I will never forget ,a smaller group size is a plus , great group too , guides and thanks to RS a great tour opportunity. Just jump in like I did "even if your alone " and DO IT !
