My experience flying CHS-EWR-MXP 9/19 arrive 9/20. Document related.

We departed Sunday 9/19 arrived this morning. United did a good job with their Travel Ready Center. They gave us the testing window of when to get tested. Test (not results)72 hours before arrival so for us United indicated we should test anytime after 2:20am eastern dst 9/17. Our arrival in MXP was 8:20 9/20 Milan time. We took a rapid antigen test with results in 10 minutes. We paid extra for the quick results. We had a PCR test scheduled but couldn’t get guaranteed results before we left CHS for EWR so for us, we canceled that test and paid for the rapid antigen. Received negative results on Friday morning 9/17, within the hour uploaded the test results and the EU digital locator form to United (about 10:am)by 4:30pm United accepted our documents ( received a text message and an email indicating acceptance). Saturday morning scanned our passports to United’s site as they requested. In CHS at flight check in the person checking us in thanked us for uploading all of our documents, verified our passport only, no other documents required to show since they had our uploaded documents. In Newark at check in the person again verified our passport only and said we have all of your required documents. With a green ink pen marked our boarding pass with “OK” and that was all.Everyone boarding had to have their documents (negative COVID test results and EU plf)verified. On arrival, just before passport control someone was announcing that we needed to show our vaccination card, they quickly looked at it and waived us on to passport control and I mean quickly looked at it. That is the only time we were asked for the vaccination card. We have been in Varenna today, not as crowded as we have seen in the past during September and no request for anything other than a mask boarding the mid lake ferry. I apologize for the length but I offer what we experienced today. This forum has been extremely helpful to us in planning our trip and thanks to all that contribute. Blessings and Safe travels.
