We are flying into Milan Malpensa and would like to go to Lugano, Switzerland for a couple of days before spending the remainder of our vacation in Italy. Is it better to go to Milano Centrale and take a train to Lugano or is there a bus that goes directly from the airport? Only "Lugano" comes up on the Trenitalia site so I assume there is only 1 train station there. Is that correct? Thanks!
(I am posting this to both the Italy and Switzerland boards).
According to the Airport site, there are many direct buses and shuttles from MXP to Lugano:
I don't know how many stations there are in Lugano, but for sure Trenitalia mentions only the station where their trains call at. I'd check also the SBB page.
