MXP to Duomo to Navigli?

Hello! My hubby and I have an overnight stop in Milan this June. We’ll be dropping off our adult son at MXP around noon on a Sunday afternoon to catch his flight home, and then our flight doesn’t leave until the next day at 2:00pm. I’m thinking about dropping our rental car at the same time we drop him, taking the train into the city to see the Duomo (storing luggage near the station) and then navigating to a hotel in the Navigli. (Maybe we’ll have time to catch the Last Supper as well if we’re willing to shell out the money for tix through a third-party as the regular tix are sold out). Then the next morning we could have a leisurely breakfast and walk around the Navigli neighborhood before heading back to the airport. Does that all sound reasonable? Would it be much better to stay more central near the Duomo? Thanks in advance!

I would probably stay more central for easy access to Malpensa Express-near either Centrale or Cadorna
You will want to be heading to the airport by 10 am- it takes close to an hour and arrive there at least 3 hours preflight

I wouldn’t store luggage near station-just go to your chosen hotel-they will hold your bags before and after check in/out

We loved our stay at Hotel Duca di York but it’s getting late to be booking something for June

If you really want to see the Last Supper, the expense of using a third party provider could be worth it. Also, several combine the Last Supper with other attractions that you might be interested in. Since you have such a short time in Milan, I would definitely explore that option.

It took us 2 trips to Milan to see the Last Supper and with an excellent tour guide explaining everything it was totally worth it. And yes, you do want to ditch the car at MXP and not drive into Milan.
