MXP T-1 to Como Train, First time to Italy and would like any suggestions

Hi,
My wife and I are going to Lake Como for our anniversary in late September. We are staying in the town of Como.
We have reserved a car rental but are thinking of cancelling it and just taking the train to and from the airport instead.

Any suggestions on the train to take............and any recommendations or suggestions of places to eat in the Lake Como area!

Thanks,
Andy

From: Malpensa Aeroporto T1 - to: Como San Giovanni (or Como Nord Lago depending on where you are staying).

The site will tell you where to change and when; it will also sell you a through ticket from MXP to the Como station of your choice.

Pick an hour of departure after the scheduled landing time of your flight.

When you buy the Tickets for these local trains at the station you must time-stamp them before getting on.

At the airport station you can't miss the validation machines, in Como you'd better remember to do it because fines are collected on the spot.

If you are going to the city of Como, you take one of the Malpensa Express trains direction Milano Nord Cadorna, but get off at Saronna and change to a train to Como Nord Lago, which is right by the waterfront. You can buy tickets when you arrive and the cost is less than going into Milan. It is 21.80 EUR for 2 adults, takes 1 hour and 18 minutes, and there are trains at 26 and 56 past the hour.
