Looking for driving maps and suggestions of must-see stops. I have checked out viamichelin.com Also, really want to see San Gimignano, but looks to be out of the way on the road to our Montepulciano B&B. Will have 2 full days to explore Montepulciano and environs. Already been to Siena, and Chianti. Suggestions?? Leaving 7/4!

San G. is not that out of the way if you're starting in Pisa and ending in Montepulciano--it's pretty much in between those two. That's the advantage of having the flexibility of a rental car in that area, to be able to get to worthwhile places. The "rap" on S.G. is that it's "touristy" but the view from one of the towers is memorable (if only those darn "tourists" would stay away from the places we want to see!). Of the places you haven't been, Volterra and Pienza are other possibilities.
