Cat, one thing I have found to work, but it's not particularly efficient, is to either type the name of the city you want to go to into a search engine or type http://www."CITYNAME".it (for Italy, .de for Germany, .fr for France, etc.) into your browser. Chances are that is the website for the tourist information office or the city website that will link you to the tourist information website. These websites often have calendars of events.

Ok, I will try it. I have had pretty good luck finding touring companies that are well referred, although I am still working on arrangements in Taormina and Croatia. I will try your link to look up things in those areas as well.
