Has anyone visited this museum in Florence? It is around the corner from the Accademia. It peeked my interest when I found it in RS book.
Is it worth a visit??
I enjoyed the Museum of Pietre Dure quite a lot. The level of technical skill achieved with ancient methods was very high, and they have some of the tools and workbenches used. More lasting is to understand this branch of art as you will see it everywhere in Italy, and not only in stone. It is really a heritage gives the modern world a reminder both of the Romans and the nobility of the Renascimento.
