I am planning to purchase the Museum Card when I get to
Venice, which includes free entrance to the Clock Tower. Since you need advanced reservations for the Clock Tower, I went on line to do so, but it requires me to purchase the tickets. If I reserve/purchase the tickets online, does that mean I lose out on the free entrance when I purchase the Museum card? Any advice? Thank you, Debbie
Hi Deborah
The two Venice Museum cards for sale are either for San Marco Museums or the civic museums. (at least the ones I found) no mention of free entrance to the clock tower. The only way to get into the clock tower is by guided tour. If you do buy the ticket for the tour, it does include the Museo Correr, the National Archaelogical Museum and the State Rooms of the Biblioteca Marciana. Those are the places included with the San Marco card (except the Doge's Palace)
I highly recommended the clock tour, you get some great photos of San Marco Sq.
I booked my tickets via phone and was given a confirmation number and picked them up at the Museo Correr about 15 minutes before the tour.
I would recommend getting the clock tour and the secret itineraries tour. It depends on how much time you have.
go to the website for more info regarding prices etc.
